Coronavirus (COVID-19): Ignite Healthcare’s Response

Dear valued clients,


As you are aware, the State and Federal Government has implemented draconian measures over the past weeks to curb the spread of COVID-19. Last week, we suspended all HCP face to face appointments and moved swiftly to implement a virtual solution, laying the foundation for future restrictions that may come into effect within the Healthcare Sector. All new HCP can access an initial virtual consultation free of charge. Why? We are committed to reaching as many elderly clients in the community as we can, to ensure that they have access to the treatment they need in order to avoid functional deterioration due to prolonged periods of social isolation or quarantine. As an essential service provider we  will be recommencing face to face appointments from Monday 30th March 2020.

Ignite Healthcare has an obligation to continue to provide its clients with therapeutic support, as such we have implemented the following safety protocols for all clients:


Face to face appointments can continue if;

– Client agrees to face to face consultation

– Client has not returned from travel in past 14 days

– Client has not been in contact with confirmed case of COVID-19 in past 14 days

– Client does not report symptoms of:



Sore throat

Shortness of breath


Note: No clinician is expected to attend a client’s home should there be a risk or confirmed case of COVID-19, until such time that the client has obtained a medical clearance from their doctor. Telehealth options are available with approval from the Case Manager.


The following infection control measures are mandatory for all staff entering a client’s home:

– Wash or sanitize hands before entering a client’s home and after leaving;

– If you need to cough or sneeze, do so into a tissue or into your elbow;

– Where possible, maintain 1.5m social distance between yourself and your client.
