Coronavirus (COVID-19): Ignite Healthcare’s Response

Dear valued clients,

As you’re aware, the Victorian State Government and the Commonwealth Government are continuing to enforce strict and vital measures to curb the deadly spread of COVID-19.

As the situation changes, health professionals are adjusting therapeutic services to abide by the latest restrictions and recommended safety measures.

Therefore, Ignite Healthcare are conducting face-to-face appointments in accordance with the state government’s public health guidelines for health practitioners.

We’ve also implemented a virtual telehealth solution to safely support our clients for the foreseeable future.

HCP: FREE INITIAL TELEHEALTH CONSULTATION

All new Home Care Package (HCP) recipients can now access an initial virtual consultation free of charge.

Why? Because we’re committed to reaching as many older clients in the community as we can; to ensure you have access to the treatment you need.

It’s important to avoid functional deterioration due to prolonged periods of social isolation or quarantine.

CLIENT OBLIGATIONS

Ignite Healthcare is obligated to continue to provide our clients with therapeutic support. As such, we have implemented the following strict safety protocols for all clients.

Face-to-face appointments, including at home and in residential care, may only safely continue if the client;

  1. Agrees to a face-to-face consultation
  2. Has not returned from travel in the past 14 days
  3. Has not been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the past 14 days
  4. Does not report any symptoms of:
    • Fever
    • Cough
    • Sore throat
    • Shortness of breath

Importantly, no clinician will attend a client’s home should there be any risk or confirmed case of COVID-19, until the client obtains medical clearance from their doctor.

Telehealth options are available with approval from the Case Manager.

INFECTION CONTROL
The following infection control measures are mandatory for all Ignite Healthcare staff when entering a client’s home:
  • Wash or sanitise hands before entering a client’s home and after leaving;
  • If you need to cough or sneeze, do so into a tissue or into your elbow;
  • Where possible, maintain 1.5m social distance between yourself and your client.
